4. TECH ISSUES
Q: When I try to log in, I get an error message about my account. How do I get back in?
A: First try resetting your password by clicking on “I forgot my password” on your Member Site login screen here. If this still does not work for you, send an email to [email protected] and she will help you ASAP.
Q: I’m not receiving weekly emails when modules are released. What can I do?
A: Make sure you whitelist the email address [email protected] (Here are directions on how to do so for different email platforms) as well as add it to your list of contacts. Please also check your Spam, Social and Promotions folders because email systems sometimes send our messages there.
Q: Do I have to wait 7 days each time for a module to be released?
A: Yes, each module is released every 7 days. That is how the program is designed and how Darren intended for each member to experience the program. This is because each module must be “mastered” and put into action before new information comes your way. Use the time to fill out the workbook, do the call to actions, put what was learned into practice during that week at work/home, and re-listen to the audio more than once while you drive/workout/walk/etc. The modules will get more intense as you go along, so having those 7 days to practice is great!
Q: Will I receive a package with audio discs or workbooks in the mail?
A: This is a completely digital program. We have also learned that most people enjoy downloading the audio onto their smartphone or audio device, as well as downloading the slides and workbook onto their computer to print if they choose, printing as needed when they "rinse & repeat." Every file is downloadable so that each member can do what works best for their learning. All of the content is found in the Downloads section inside each module and video mentoring session (see below).
Q: I’ve fallen behind. When do the modules expire? How long do I have access to the program?
A: The good news is you have lifetime access (as long as the program is online) to the program, meaning the modules and videos will never expire. This gives you the flexibility to go through the program at your own pace and schedule. It also gives you the opportunity to go through the program more than once and add it to your library of success materials for future reference.
Q: I purchased MASTERY, but I have not received an email with instructions on how to access it. Help!
A: Once you purchase MASTERY it will be found in Your Library as soon as you log into the Training Vault. You will not need separate login information. We recommend that MASTERY members begin MASTERY AFTER the 12 modules of INSANE PRODUCTIVITY have been completed.
Q: My family member/friend/colleague would like to sign up for INSANE PRODUCTIVITY, but the site says it is sold out. When does the next class start?
A: Good news! Since you are a current INSANE PRODUCTIVITY member, you can share this special referral link with them: bit.ly/1RYH4J6. They are also eligible for the referral discount, which has been automatically deducted from the full price.
Q: Where are all the Easter Eggs? I cannot find all of them.
A: The eggs are hidden throughout the program. As a hint, they may be in the audio module, the video mentoring session, the workbooks, the PDF module slides, and make sure to also look through your weekly module release email updates when you receive them. Once they are found, click here to unlock your treasure.
Q: The Easter Egg password I think I heard is not working. What should I do?
A: Reach out to your fellow members in the private Facebook Group (if you have already joined the group) for help or clues. Also, make sure to check for accurate spelling and remember that some passwords are case sensitive.
Q: The Easter Egg password “motor” is not working for #5587.
A: The egg mentioned in the Big Rocks video with the password motor was corrected in the text banner.
Q: Who is Darren’s favorite author for the password to 9937?
A: The author is mentioned in this YouTube video: Darren’s top 3 Influential Books. Make sure that when you put in the password you capitalize the first letter of the first and last name with NO space between the names.
Q: Where can I find the code for the MASTERY session?
A: The code was released in the introduction video of the program.
Q: What is the main difference between Vital Functions & Vital Priorities?
A: Vital Functions are the few unique roles you perform to "make it rain” (make money, drive growth, produce revenue, etc.). Vital Priorities are the few current most important action items of those few vital functions. Simply put: VF: Roles VP: Actions
Q: What is the difference between jam sessions and power hours?
A: A jam session is a 90-minute focused and concentrated sprint working on a big MVP (Most Valuable Priority). Power hours are those times of the day when you have the most power for the activities you are working on. For instance my mental power hours are first thing in the morning and just before shutting down for the day. My physical power hours are not in the morning, but in the evening. My communication power hours are not in the morning or in the evening, they are right after lunch. You want to find your bio-rhythm of when you are most powerful for different activities.
Q: What do you recommend as the minimal amount of time for a jam session if I don’t have 90 full minutes to allocate to this?
A: Shoot for a minimum of 45 minutes. However, the more time you can allocate to single-task focus the better.
Q: If a focused jam session is 90 minutes, what is the recovery time before we can begin another 90-minute jam session?
A: 15-20 minutes at least. Rest (your mind) and do a couple of other less mentally intense activities between sessions.
Q: How often should I rest and recover (aka do nothing)?
A: Post a 90-minute jam session, 15-20 minutes daily/weekly or whatever it takes to restore, revitalize and rejuvenate your mind. This “do nothing” does not have to be literal. It is just your mind off the “grid." You can work out, rock climb, surf, ski, read a book, watch a movie, meditate or watch paint dry. The activity doesn’t matter, removing your brain from the frenetic energy and constant “burn” is all you are doing.
Q: Can a workout/physical exercise time be considered your recovery time?
A: Yes, as a knowledge worker anything that relaxes your MIND is recovery. If you work construction then that is a different story. My guess is you are a knowledge worker, so anything that removes your MIND from the grid is recovery. Remember, we are talking MENTAL recovery.
Q: How does one regain focus after rest and recovery? I’m afraid I’ll overdo rest and recovery.
A: Monitor/measure your time on--as you do with your 90-minute Jam Sessions--and your time off. Whatever requires your disciplined attention, monitor and measure.
Q: In the workbook pages for Module 3, you show an example of your 3 power blocks. You also show a 30-minute “Calibration” period. Can you please explain what that is and what it entails?
A: It’s explained in the program, but essentially it is a review of: Goals: 5-that year, this year, this month and this week. Success Vitals: You’ll learn more about this later. Today’s MVPs (Most Valuable Priorities) Think List: Those few things I am continuing to process in the back of my mind Consistency List: Those few behaviors I am monitoring closely Study List: That one skill I am focused on deepening.
Q: Is listening to music while doing focused and important work considered multitasking? Is it a distraction or can it really help me concentrate?
A: Anything that breaks your concentration, that pulls you out of “REM concentration” is a distraction. Some can work with music on in the background; I cannot unless it is classical or non-lyrical music. Right now I have some sort of Spa radio station running on Pandora, no words just soft soothing instrumental music. That or complete silence, which is usually better for me if I am really mentally focusing.
Q: Do you have an suggestions on how/where to find an accountability partner and/or a mentor?
A: 99% of my mentorship with Jim Rohn was through his materials. You do not need someone to meet with or to take to lunch. The world’s greatest mentors are at your fingertips. You can have Abe Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Jesus of Nazareth, Eleanor Roosevelt, anyone and most everyone of great stature, their materials, ideas, philosophies and instruction has been captured in books, audio recordings and documentaries. You are surrounded by mentors. You are getting mentorship now, through INSANE PRODUCTIVITY, and directly from me through DarrenDaily. In regards to an accountability partner, just find someone equally committed to the process of growth and learning as you are. Ask folks on the Facebook group. If they are members of IP, they are achievement-minded people.
Q: Tracking Challenge – I am struggling with consistent tracking of the Weekly Rhythm Register. How do you ensure your tracking gets done each day?
A: First, let me rant: Do it. Yes it’s hard. That’s why few succeed. Because those who do, do what’s hard. Of course you are struggling, most do. That’s why “most” end up mediocre, befuddled, perplexed and blame Obama. This is what separates the boys from the men and the girls from the women. No way around it. You gotta do it. And stick to it. Even when you don’t want to. Scratch that, MOST ESPECIALLY when you don’t want to do it. Okay, rant done. Now, in regards to insurance, set an alarm on your phone, paste it to your mirror, put it on your pillow, tell your kid to remind you every night, whatever. The method you’ll need to figure out. But the key message is: figure it out. It’s the discipline you are after, not the method.
Q: What are your thoughts on using Facebook both for personal use and business? The modules stress the importance of limiting it but yet I am encouraged to interact in the private INSANE PRODUCTIVITY Facebook page. Can you clarify?
A: Watch the video mentoring session that I did on this very topic. Use it as a marketing and communication channel, but don’t excuse it beyond its usefulness as being “productive." As I give you this answer I am doing it in an email sent to me by Britt who scans all my social media channels and sends me only what’s pertinent to respond to. MANAGE the channel and not the other way around.
Q: I received the High Performance Dashboard from the Tools of Measurement video Easter Egg, but I am unable to edit or use the Google spreadsheet. It is in View Only mode. Help!
A: In order to edit the spreadsheet, you must first add it to your own Google Drive. When you open it up, click File in the menu bar, and then in that dropdown menu click “Make a copy." Choose a title for the spreadsheet and once you complete that it will be added to your Google Drive and you can edit freely as you like.
Q: In the High Performance Dashboard given, what do the xxxxx and ^/v represent?
A: The xxxx is what you will fill in for your Vital Metric. For example, let’s say you are in Sales. So one of your xxxxx’s could be # number of outgoing calls. The ^/v is what you are tracking, the change from last week compared to this week. Below is a sample that may put it into better perspective.
Q: How do you distinguish between “staying in your comfort zone” and “staying within your sphere of strength”?
A: Let’s say my strength is public speaking and speaking to 5,000 is in my comfort zone, but speaking to a coliseum of 50,000 is outside my comfort zone… but still in my strength circle, while building my own website is in my comfort zone, but it is outside my strength circle.
Q: How does one strive towards being being a “superachiever” when the environment where one operates does not lend to it?
A: Remember the fish in saltwater reference? You can be in the salt water but not be OF the saltwater. You can be in a chaotic, dysfunctional environment without being chaotic or dysfunctional yourself. Don’t let the environment define your behavior. Let your behavior redefine the environment. Don’t be a victim of the environment, be a change agent. Don’t be a follower, be a leader (by example).
Q: Do you have any recommendations for creating the knowledge bank referenced?
A: Don’t over complicate it. Just create several Word docs or Google docs with different topic headers (i.e. Sales, Leadership, Productivity, Marketing, Communication, etc.) – whichever are relevant for you and your business. Then when an idea is important enough, add it to the appropriate document.
Q: Have you considered adding content to the program that focuses conflict management?
A: I’d recommend How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie (read before? read again) and Jim Rohn’s Take Charge of Your Life.
Q: Which book do you recommend on…
*Becoming an awesome presenter - The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs by Carmine Gallo and Resonate by Nancy Duarte
*Being a great communicator - Same as above and Tell to Win by Peter Guber
*On dealing with rejection from prospects - Read my book, The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster.
*Sales - Read my book, The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster.
*Jim Rohn - Lessons of a Lifetime. It’s really the best condensed version of his best stuff.
